Skill Progressions

Structured pathways to help you progress safely and confidently.

Park Progression

Where to go and what to bring.

Our Park setup is designed to help you build skills through a clear progression system, starting from our smallest jump and advancing to our largest. Safety and skill development go hand in hand, which is why access to each feature must be approved by NSTC staff.

INTRO2PLASTIC

This is your first step into Park. INTRO2PLASTIC is mandatory for all first-timers and introduces the basics of our smallest jump, in-run surface, and airbag landing. You'll learn how to approach, fall, land, and safely exit the airbag.

To participate, you must be confident skiing or snowboarding on a blue run with control. This is not a beginner lesson, but a safety introduction for competent riders.

Jump Progression

Moving from the Small to Medium, Large, and XL jumps requires staff approval. Riders must demonstrate:

  • Safe and consistent Approach, Take-off, Manoeuvre, and Landing (A.T.M.L.)

  • Key skills like stance, balance, edging, rotation, and pressure control

  • The ability to consistently clear the Red Knuckle Line with control

To use the XL (55ft+) jump, you must first complete at least one 2-hour session on the Large (39ft) jump with demonstrated safety and control.

Acro Progression

Build skills step-by-step, from bounce to inverts.

While Acro doesn’t have formal rules for trampoline use, we recommend the following approach for safety and skill development:

Trampoline Progression
  • Start on our Olympic trampolines – ideal for warming up and mastering foundational control.

  • Move on to the airbag trampoline once you’re confident, for practicing dynamic skills with a soft landing.

  • Our super trampolines offer greater height and power, perfect for advanced users who are fully warmed up.

Harness Systems
  • The Inversion Harness supports learning flips and other inverted skills.

  • The Twisting Harness is designed for combining twists with flips or learning more advanced aerial tricks.

Harness use is limited to appropriate skill levels and is supervised by coaches. It’s intended for aerial skill development – not general bouncing or upright drills.

Trick Progression System
  • Our Acro classes follow a structured internal level system. Each level builds on the last, helping everyone progress at their own pace with a focus on safety and solid technique.

  • Milestones are celebrated with achievement certificates in selected community Acro classes.
